Bras After Breast Removal Surgery
You’ve just undergone your explant surgery and your had your implants removed. As you know this is when the healing takes place so it is crucial you do everything you can to assist and ensure a smooth recovery.
What bras to wear post surgery
Your post op bras after your surgery and for the 6 weeks that follows you will need to wear a sports bra. Some surgeons will also recommend you wear a compression bra at night which is like a light weight bra.
Try to find a sports bra that zips up at the front this will make it easier for you to get on and off.
Note: During this time your scar is very sensitive as is your skin this is why you can not put on the sext little underwire bra just yet….believe me it will not be worth it.
Sports Bras I recommend Post Surgery
Compression bra I recommend
Stage 2 Post Surgery
After 6 weeks you can now start to wear a wire free or soft bra…still no underwire bras.
Any hard friction or rubbing on your scar can cause damage and irritation so you need to wait until it is fully healed before you wear underwire bras but you can introduce some new bras into your lingerie drawer.
Non-Underwire Bras or Soft Cups I recommend are:-
Berlei Post Surgery Bra and Panache Atlantis Bra they aren’t as “big” as the other bras above so you can start to wear a variety a tops. You can still wear the bras above.
Stage 3 Post Surgery
Hello Underwire bras…..I’m back. This can be 3 to 6 months after your breast implant removal your surgeon will give you the OK.
Before you rush out and starting stocking up on your new lingerie there are a few things you need to know and remember-
★Get fitted by a Professional Fitter and I mean professional not one that claims to be.
★The band needs to fit snugly around the back and sit even from front to back.
★Underwires to sit flush against your chest and they should not dig in anywhere.
★No spillage or gapping in the bra cup
★You should be able to fit 2 fingers underneath your bra shoulder strap.
